October 12, 2007 _________________ Attention Crew 342: Here is our latest newsletter. This is all the information you need to know as discussed at the last few meetings. 1- Our next service project will be setting up and running a rope bridge at the Cub Family Campout on October 27. We need at least 4 venturers and 1 adult to help setup and run the bridge, but the more people we have the better. We will meet at the church at 6:45 AM and leave no later than 7:00. The bridge will be open to cubs from 12:00-4:30, but the bridge must be completed and checked no later than 11:45. 2- The white water rafting trip was a success. Everyone has a great time. We all had a lot of fun on the river. The rafting was great. 3- We made some revisions to our uniform system. The Class A uniform will be required only for meetings and formal events. We are looking into getting crew t-shirts that will be worn on camping trips, to service projects, and for most other functions. The definition of the Class A uniform has also been changed. We now define it as being the official venturing shirt with all epilets and insignia and kaki pants or shorts for the lower half. It is required and if it is not worn to meetings and at certain events. 4- The officer review for the year will be on the night of November 1. The election of officers will be held on November 8. All elections after this one will be on the 4th Thursday in July. The terms, with the exception of this coming one, will continue to be one year. 5- The dates for the caving trip have been changed to November 30 - December 2. Garrett is planning the trip this time. Make your plans to attend. It will be an awesome trip. 6- We have two new members to the crew. Welcome TJ Makowske and Adrian Jacobs. They both joined just before the white water rafting trip. 7- The next meeting will be October 25, 2007. -Karl
